Dr Katherine Maltby

Climate Change Scientist

Katherine works as a scientist within the Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation team. Her role involves undertaking research regarding how climate change will impact the marine environment and dependent sectors and communities, with her particular specialism being within fisheries. Katherine is a multidisciplinary scientist, using a range of scientific approaches and methods in her work, from statistical modelling to in-depth interviewing. Her current work has spanned the UK, Europe, Caribbean and the ROPME sea area (Middle East). She also works in helping to communicate climate change research to different audiences, working with MCCIP and iMC3 to share research outputs. Katherine also has expertise of working at the science-policy interface, with previous roles including working for the UK Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology and with the UK Government Office for Science.
