As a scientific body within Defra, Cefas is focussed on undertaking world-leading research to further our understanding of both freshwater and marine environments, as well as their inhabitants. Within the International Centre of Excellence for Aquatic Animal Disease, we undertake a wide variety of research projects to look at diseases and environmental conditions that impact on the health and wellbeing of fish, molluscs, and crustaceans, the results of which can be read about below in our case studies and recent peer-reviewed publications.
