My work focusses on aquatic ecosystem assessment and conservation, from studies of biodiversity to whole food webs. Collaborating with mathematicians, modellers, geomorphologists, economists and a broad range of stakeholders has enabled me to tackle fundamental questions relating to how environmental change affects ecosystem structure and functioning while, at the same time, strengthen the evidence required to provide effective advice to government.”
