Dr Shannon White
Shannon has a background in benthic ecology and assessment of drivers of change using different techniques (analysis of imagery, field survey, collation and analysis of historic and contemporary datasets, spatial analysis, mesocosm experiments). Before joining Cefas in 2021, she conducted PhD and post-doctoral research on the intertidal mudflats of the Solent at the University of Portsmouth. As an advisor on the Evidence for Marine Management and Policy Team (EMMP), Shannon’s role is to contribute to R&D projects relating to drivers of ecosystem change and to provide, and support, the provision of authoritative scientific and technical advice to a range of stakeholders on the potential risks and impacts to the marine environment of a wide range of human activities to support sustainable blue growth. In addition to the EMMP team, Shannon works with the Geographic Information Analysis team and with the Marine Protected Areas team.
