Ellen McHarg
Ellen is an environmental economist, predominantly focusing on economic assessments (including natural capital and ecosystem service valuation) to understand how people use and value changing coastal and marine environments. She has experience working across a range of different topics (e.g., cultural ecosystem services, sustainable seafood, blue carbon, water quality), applying both stated and revealed preference methods.
Ellen also has a keen interest in understanding how consumer behaviour can be influenced to reduce environmental impacts. In particular, she is interested in how diets can be transitioned to incorporate more sustainable seafood to tackle global issues (such as climate change, food security and malnutrition), as well as inform policy and strategy for improved production, processing and regulation.
