Marta Vannoni

SENIOR SCIENTIST ECOTOXICOLOGIST

Marta is senior scientist in the Ecotoxicology and Chemical Risk Assessment team (ECORA) at Cefas (Lowestoft) since May 2012. She has experience on a wide range of projects focussing on human pressure, in particular contaminants, on marine organisms. Her work often involves multi-disciplinary approaches with collaborations ranging from ecology to chemistry departments with both experimental and field applications. Her work focuses on impact of contaminant chemicals upon marine primary producers and invertebrates. She leads the bioassay work in the ECORA team in Lowestoft and has a strong interest in understanding the response of biological communities to pollutants. Marta has worked on projects in the UK and abroad (i.e. South Pacific and Caribbean) and is currently completing a PhD as a member of the Collaborative Centre on Sustainable Use of the Seas.
