Use of animals in Cefas science
Most work undertaken by Cefas does not involve the use of live animals however, sometimes the use of animals, including those protected under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 ASPA is, we believe, necessary and justified. Here we describe what we do, why we do it and what governance is in place to ensure that we uphold a very strong ‘culture of care’ to maintain the highest standards of animal welfare in all that we do.
