The CLiP team began working with partners in South Africa in September 2019.
In collaboration with local researchers, the team are establishing two microplastics laboratories and training scientists to use it to better understand the levels of microplastics in water, sediments and biota around South Africa.
The STOMP! (Stamp Out Marine Plastic Pollution) Awards were run in collaboration with Durban Green Corridors and are seeking innovative ideas, artworks, technology and projects to help tackle marine plastic pollution. More details including can be found at the STOMP! Awards website.
On the 4th-5th December, CLiP and Sustainable Seas Trust (SST) hosted the CLiP Innovation Conference: STEM the tide of plastic waste to bring together leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to share ideas and find solutions to marine plastics.
