Whale management: an optimality approach

This study recognises the difficulties in developing management schemes as alternatives to the current IWC management procedure, without explicit criteria. However, provided that such criteria can be recognised, this study outlines an approach that might be adopted to produce a control that would be stochastically nearly optimal, simple to use and easy to present. An example is provided.
