Polychlorinated biphenyls in sediments downstream of a contaminated industrial site in North Wales

PCBs leached from a contaminated industrial site and entering a stream were trapped in sediments close to the site and did not reach the sea in significant quantities. Such sites treated by rivers are unlikely to constitute a major source of PCBs reaching the sea.
