The occurrence of young scaldfish, Arnoglossus laterna (Walbaum, 1972) in the eastern Irish Sea

Unusually high numbers of scaldfish (Arnoglossus laterna) have been found in the eastern Irish Sea during 1990. Advantageous climatic conditions may be responsible. The impact of this predator on inshore flatfish nursery populations may be important.
