Meiofauna in marine pollution monitoring programmes: a laboratory manual

Compilers - P.J. Somerfield and R.M. Warwick

This manula facilitates the use of meiofauna in routine marine pollution monitoring programmes. The determination of changes in the structurte of benthic communtiites is a a well established method of monitoing the biological effects of marine pollution, but at the present time almost exclusive use is made of the macrofauna (animals retained on a 0.5 mm mesh). The overall objective of MAFF research project AE0210 was to evaluate the use of meifauna in such programmes without the need of trained personnel.
