Changes in the North Sea ecosystem and their causes: Arhus 1975 revisited
N. Daan, K. Richardson and J.G. Pope
The publication presents the proceedings of the The Symposium, which was a follow-up to the 1975 ICES Symposium on 'North Sea Fish Stocks -- and Recent Changes and Their Causes', which had also been held in Aarhus. As a reflection of the newer ecosystem-oriented approach to the understanding of the North Sea, the 1995 Symposium addressed changes in all aspects of the ecosystem and their causes. In addition to a number of papers and posters dealing specifically with fish stocks, contributions were presented on changes in bird, phytoplankton, zooplankton, and benthos populations. There were also contributions dealing with the changes that various activities such as oil extraction and fishing have made on the North Sea ecosystem.
