The MAFF/CEFAS marine and coastal zone mapping project

CEFAS is an Executive Agency of the UK Government's MAFF. Founded in 1902, it is now an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research, assessment and advice on fisheries management and environmental protection. It is therefore both a producer and a user of a wide variety of spatial data and has been at the forefront of marine and coastal zone mapping since the early 1970s. Previous initiatives have included production of the MAFF-funded Atlas of teh Seas around the British Isles and collaborastion in the UK Digital Marine Atlas Project (UKDMAP).
