PKX is the aetological agent of proliferative kidney disease (PKD) in salmonid fish. This communication reports, the first demonstration, based on molecular evidence, that PKX occurs in Bryozoa in the UK. In addition, this is the first record of PKX in bryozoans collected from riverine habitats known to be enzootic for PKD.
