Contaminants and their effects on estuarine and coastal organisms in the United Kingdom in the late twentieth century

This paper reviews chemical and biological effects monitoring data collected from UK estuarine and coastal waters over the last 15-20 years. It focuses in particular on data gathered by CEFAS, but includes other relevant information. Its objective is to draw together a synthesis of available information in order to assess the severity of pollution effects around the UK coastline. In concludes with some recommendations for future research.
