Gyrodactylus portlandensis n. sp. (Monogenea) is described from the gills, fins and skin of Thorogobius epphippiatus (Leopard-spot Goby) from Portland castle bay, Dorset, UK. Gyrodactylus portlandensis n. sp. displays a distinctive square shape of the toe region on the marginal hook, which can make identification under light and scanning electron microscopy easier.
