Developments in the use of chromatographic techniques in marine laboratories for the determination of halogenated contaminants and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons

J. de Boer and R.J. Law

This special issue is to commemorate 100 years of chromatpgraphy and will appear in volume 1000 of the journal, alongside a conference to be held in June 2003. Our paper will review developments in analytical methodology (particularly GC and HPLC techniques) for analysis of organochlorine and organobromine contaminants, hydrocarbons and PAH in marine samples. My section will also draw upon intercomparison exercises run within ICES MCWG and QUASIMEME, and their role in driving innovation.
