Levels and Trends of Brominated Flame Retardants in the European Environment

Taking as its starting point the recent reviews by de Wit (2002) and Law et al. (2003), we intend to review new data which have become available (published, in press or submitted) since that time. A particular focus will be any information on time trends which may have become apparent as a result in changes in the patterns of usage of these products, in particular the phasing out of the penta- and octa-mix PBDE formulations within the EU.
