A new species of microsporidia is described from the liver and muscle of sea scorpions collected in Portland Harbour, Dorset. Fresh material from the host was used to describe features present at he light microscope level. In addition, samples taken for electron microscopy have been used to describe the ultrastructure of the new parasite. Data is also provided on the host response to the developing parasite and the subsequent xenoma formed.
