Strict marine protected areas prevent reef shark declines

Ecological analysis reveals ongoing threatening declines in two coral reef sharks in the fished zones of the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. This highlights management failure in the poached areas, but also the success of strict no-entry marine protected areas in preventing shark declines.
