John dory forms a highly relevant case study in the context of climate change for reasons comparable to red mullet—the likelihood of increasing northerly presence in response to climatic warming, high market value and, especially given less fishing opportunities for other species, probably increasingly targeted fishery and potential importance to the economy in the near future.
