100% of fish affected; could retard growth. Most rainbow trout reared in hard water are affected to some degree.

Histology showed interesting lesions in muscle mucosa of intestine - whorls of phagocytic cells surrounded by fibrous capsule. Round basophilic material in cells and associated with lesions. Some kidneys from 6 month old fish included with three month old material.
