Important lesion category for biological effects monitoring. Relatively common in certain flatfish species from areas affected by anthropogenic pollution.
Well circumscribed adenomas comprising of relatively basophilic hepatocytes compared to the adjacent liver tissue. Other specimens include hydropic vacuolation of biliary epithelial cells, multiple foci of cellular alteration and a case of marked hepatocellular and nuclear pleomorphism.
