Significance:

The fish remained fully active, fed well and appeared to be unaffected for 8-10 weeks after which it spent extended periods on the bottom of the tank and was humanely dispatched.

Lession:

The tumour developed to two-thirds its final size over 15 days with colouring to match the fish. A second smaller growth appeared in the first week, but did not develop.
