Significance:

Associated with low level mortalities in fish from the same source. Not usually considered to be a serious pathogen of carp.

Lession:

Macroscopically swollen kidney. Dilated renal tubules containing numerous spores and developmental stages. Mature spores of H.cyprini were confirmed from small samples of unfixed tissue.
