Herring populations in the N. Sea are affected at approx. 1% prevelance. Very rare (6/93) in southern N. Sea. Mortalities have been recorded on Norwegian and Swedish coasts.

Lession:

Sporulating bodies in the hearts. All visceral organs affected. Necrosis of tissues.
