Collected during cruise Corystes 2b/93
Produces skeletal deformities in affected fish including scoliosis, lordosis and compression. A relatively common condition in haddock, although other species have been reported with vertebral anomalies. Bacterial association not been previously recorded.
Chronic proliferation of fibrous connective tissue with a marked inflammatory response between vertebrae which results in fusion of the vertebrae. There is also granuloma formation and large numbers of gram negative bacteria present.
