Significance:

In this case minimal. Xenomas were only located in the gill epithelium and not in other tissues. Mortalities were attributed to other factors although this infection may have contributed.

Lession:

Gill xenomas arising from epithelial cells, minimal host reaction, mainly limited to those instances where xenomas had ruptured releasing spores into connective tissue.
