Significance:

G.stephani usually form discrete cysts along the alimentary tract. This parasite may be another species or represent an atypical infection.

Lession:

Massive infection in the spleen, granulomatous change with large numbers of lymphocytes present. Parasites small with distinct spore structure. Tend to be disseminated rather than in sporophorus vesicles.
