Only internal clinical sign internally was slight granular kidney. Externally, fish dark and swimming on side of pond. The presence of eosinophils is often associated with helminth infections.
Very large eosinophilic droplets in nephron epithelia. Nephrons surrounded by numerous eosinophils. 4 out of 10 spleens examined harboured numerous perisinusoidal eosinophils, this matching the number of similarly affected kidneys. The swollen and degenerative nephrons, which were numerous in some cases could have produced the clinical signs.
