Large focal haemorrhage and inflammation in the heart. Dissected nodules show marked epithelial hyperplasia invaginated with cords of connective tissue indicative of incipient papilloma formation. Underlying dermal tissues contain conspicuous pale staining areas, possibly incorporating nervous tissue and/or mucoid material.
