Laboratory Testing Guidance document

The Laboratory testing guidance document which has been compiled as a result of discussions held between Cefas, NOGEPA and the State Supervision of Mines (SSM) during 2016/17. These discussions have focused on the outcome of annual audits of Netherlands-registered products conducted by Cefas, which have highlighted the number of issues with test report quality.

The document is intended to provide clarifications and recommendations on the way testing in support of chemical registrations of offshore chemicals should be carried out. Particular emphasis has been placed on the aspect of test substance characterisation since shortcomings in this area are widespread and must be addressed. The approach to be followed by testing laboratories going forwards is detailed in accordance with recommendations from SSM.
