The Association of IFCAs joins Premiam
4 December 2012
The Premiam partners are today pleased to announce that they have welcomed the Association of IFCAs (Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority) as a Premiam partnership member.
There are 10 regional IFCAs covering the entire English coastline that came into being in 2011 as part of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. IFCAs replace the previous Sea Fisheries Committees and are tasked with the sustainable management of inshore sea fisheries resources in their local area.
As such the IFCAs have a keen interest in understanding the impact of marine accidents, especially in coastal regions, and will be a key stakeholder in post spill monitoring activities.
This now takes the number of government departments, agencies and organisations that are identified as Premiam partners to 22 across the UK.
